It’s different on the way home:
you’re there, I imagine, space
to exhale from the mistakes
of the day. The diary
talks a good home but has become
increasingly disillusioned.
It’s different, this home:
I carry around in my shirt pocket;
I hold you like a photograph,
as close as the gutter to the stars.
